There is no single price - and that's a good thing
Asking "how much does a website cost?" is like asking "how much does a house cost?". It depends on the size, the finish and what you need inside. A 5-page corporate site does not cost the same as an online store with payments and stock management.
In Mozambique, a professional website typically starts from 20,000 MZN and goes up with complexity. What matters is understanding what moves the price, so you neither overpay nor underpay.
What makes the price vary
Four factors weigh most: the number of pages and amount of content; the features (forms, blog, client area, multi-language); the integrations (M-Pesa, e-Mola, external systems, APIs); and the design (adapted template vs. custom design).
A site that just presents the company is quick to build. Once you add e-commerce, bookings, or a private login area, more development work comes in - and the price reflects that.
Price ranges by type of site
Corporate website / landing page: the essentials for a credible online presence, responsive and Google-optimised. Site with blog and dynamic content: for those who want to publish and rank in search regularly.
Online store (e-commerce): catalogue, cart, M-Pesa/e-Mola payments and order management. Custom web system: when you need something no template does - a dashboard, a portal, a flow specific to your business.
What should always be included
Avoid proposals that only talk about price. A good quote includes: a responsive site (works well on mobile), search engine optimisation (SEO), fast loading, and a support period after delivery.
Also confirm who owns the domain and the code, and whether hosting and professional email are included or separate.
In short
The price of a website in Mozambique is not fixed because every business needs different things. Define the goal first (show, sell, manage) and then ask for a detailed quote - not just a number.
